Mental Health Awareness

Stephen Austin recognises the importance of the well being of its employees. In an aim to do more to support our employees and help prevent mental illness in the workplace, two members of our team undertook and passed a specialist training course and are now fully qualified as Mental Health First Aiders. Also in January 2020, our Managers undertook in-house Mental Health Awareness training. This well-being initiative is being promoted throughout the company with the aim that employees will feel supported and comfortable in reaching out to either their Manager or Mental Health First Aider.

The AEA once again delivered an informative and well run conference, which will help members to meet the challenges of the year ahead. 2020 will mark the first canvass to be delivered following the reform of canvass processes, changes that will have a significant impact on Electoral Services teams.  There are also potential changes, around overseas voter registration, voter ID requirements, the devolution agenda, UK Parliamentary boundary changes. We are working hard to support Electoral services teams, Please contact us at

See us at Birmingham for the AEA Focus Day

Attending the AEA Canvass Reform Focus Day on Monday, 9th September? It will be an interesting day. In 2020 the way in which the annual canvass is conducted is being transformed in order to reduce the administrative burden on EROs and make the process more citizen focused. The Focus Day will give members the opportunity to consider the changes, look at how best to prepare for them and think about how they will canvass from July 2020. Read more about the day at We look forward to meeting delegates at the event. Please drop by stand 12 for some sweet treats!
